What does all of this mean?
It shows that in the broader scheme of things, our Earth is pretty insignificant ... and that means the same for you and me.
On the other hand, it makes me realize my value, because despite being somewhat 'insignificant', the creator of all of the above, loves me so much that He was willing to send His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for me.
How do you see yourself?
1) Are you the most 'powerful' and fearsome person out there? Do you think everyone must do what you want?
If you do, it's time to put things in perspective ... you may be 'big' to the people around you, or very important in your company or country but remember, you are but a grain of sand in the known Universe.
Yes, it is important to have a healthy self image and be proud of your accomplishments and position, but do not think of yourself more highly than you ought to.
Yes, by all means, enjoy your giftings and all that it brings but do not get puffed up or even deny the existence of God, as some do.
2) On the other hand, do you feel small and insignificant? Do you think NO ONE can help with your situation?
If you do, you need to take another look at your beliefs because your views may depend on whether you are a believer or a doubter. That is, whether you believe there is a God, that He is the creator of 'all of the above' and that He reigns in the affairs of men.
Why is this important?
Because if God is who He says He is, then you are a person of value and He has got you covered.
It is important not to look at the size of your problem, but rather focus on the size of your God.
... so relax and enjoy this song from way back when, which tells you a little bit about how 'BIG' our God is.
