The #Carnevale di #Putignano is not only the longest Carnevale in the world, lasting for up to 2 months, but also one of the oldest.

The #carnival begins on #December 26, with a religious ceremony in which the townspeople take a candle to church and ask forgiveness beforehand for the sins they will commit during the #festival period through #January until it ends on #FatTuesday in #February .

Every Thursday is dedicated to mocking a different group of people.
