#ErtaAle #volcano or the smoking #mountain is also known as the #GatewayToHell .

Enjoy this video which flies over the hottest place on Earth, where the Erta Ale volcano #lava #lake , the multicoloured #Dallol #sulfur #springs and the #Danakil depression #wastelands of salt exist. Lava lakes are very #rare : there are only six in the world.

The surrounding terrain is some of the most inhospitable on Earth but if you can make it, it sure is an awesome place to see.

The rural city of #Lalibela is known for its 11 #medieval monolithic #churches hewn into the rocks.

It is one of the most mystical cities of the country and the main centre of pilgrimage of the Ethiopian #Orthodox Church. The excavation of the #temples was initiated in the 12th Century by order of King XII Lalibela.

This video by Luis shows a few religious moments inside the twin churches of #Bet #Golgotha and #Sina , included on this #UNESCO #World #Heritage Site
