#PTS-Denmark : #Rubjerg #Knude is a #lighthouse located on the North #Sea coast in the #Jutland municipality of #Hjørring .

Lit for the first time in 1900, over time, shifting #sand #dunes and coastal erosion made the lighthouse inaccessible and also impossible for some ships to see the light from the sea.

In 1968 the lighthouse was lit for the last time but it's now a popular tourist destination and a great place for #paragliding .

#Band-e #Amir is a series of six deep blue #lakes separated by natural dams made of #travertine , created by calcium deposits over many years.

They stretch across the valley in long graceful arcs, and merge into a strikingly beautiful #landscape of stone, #desert , and water.

The lakes are situated in the #Hindu #Kush #Mountains of Central Afghanistan at approximately 3000 meters of elevation, west of the famous Buddhas of #Bamiyan .

#PTS-Taiwan - The #Mushroom #Rock in #Yehliu #Geopark a cape on the north coast of Taiwan in the town of #Wanli which is between #Taipei and #Keelung .

This 1,700 meter-long peninsula on the #beach is dotted with strange #rock formations and hoodoo stones.

A number of rock formations have been given imaginative names based on their shapes and the most well-known is the 'The Queen's Head' - an #iconic image in Taiwan and an unofficial emblem for the town of Wanli.

#TTD-Morocco : #Marathon de #Sables is a six-day, 251 km (156 mi) ultramarathon which is the equivalent of six regular marathons.

This #race is held every year in the #Sahara #desert in southern Morocco and with temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius and different terrains, it is considered the toughest foot race on Earth.

Competitors must carry all personal belongings and food for the entire event in their backpack. Water and tents are supplied by the organizers.

#PTS-Cyprus : Dont miss the #St #Nicholas and the #Cats #Monastery on the edge of #Akrotiri village near #Limassol .

According to legend, when a terrible drought affected the entire #island , it was overrun by poisonous snakes and #StHelena ordered 1,000 cats to be shipped from @Egypt and Palestine to fight the snakes ... this they have done effectively for almost 2000 years.

The monastery gets a small subsidy but is dependent on donations from locals and tourists.

#Metalmorphosis is a mirrored stainless-steel water #fountain #sculpture located in the Whitehall Technology Park in #Charlotte .

Created by Czech sculptor David Cerny, this giant head is made of horizontally sliced stainless steel plate layers that rotate in various patterns.
