A few good words:
As every Keralite I also regard my guests as Gods. I am patient, gentle, gentlemanly, communicative, flexible and always thriving to give money's worth to the guests. My service motto is to receive a guest and send back a friend.

Kerala backwaters, the most enchanting and virgin land!

Place:South - West of IndiaKochiIndia
When:Oct 10, 2011.

Rivers, lakes, backwaters, lagoons, and lush green coconut and rice paddy fields and inhabited by people most friendly and hospitable is the land of Kerala. The state in the southern most tip of India has lately enchanted people from everywhere.

Kerala is green because of mainly three reasons.
First is its' nature. This is the place where almost three meters of rain is received through two monsoons every year. Secondly, 44 rivers are flowing length and breadth of this state, which irrigates all fields and plantations. Thirdly, it's most fertile soil; nurtures tea, coffee, rubber, spices like pepper, ginger, cardamom, etc., One can very happily add to this list the attitude of the people to grow trees even on a tiny courtyard around the house. They always love to grow a banana, a mango, a jack fruit, some papayas, one or two pineapples, etc., Fact is, a fresh fruit is available through out the year and at the lowest price.

The people, basically vegetarians prefer to grow it in the state itself though plenty is imported from the neighboring states, which are not far.

Long cost line along the Arabian sea supply adequately sea fish and from the rivers freshwater fish.

Though this part of the world is now in the lime light, and is now frequented by global tourists and developments in industry taking clues from similar situations from elsewhere the administration and most responsible people has successfully managed to keep its virginity and freshness. Tourists loved to call it as, 'God's own country. It will remain same on years to come.

Most ideal way of exploring this beautiful state, is by cruising the backwaters in a houseboat.
A house boat with traditional design having one or two bedrooms with a small kitchen and one or two chefs will cost only USD 150 to 200 for two with all foods.
